Political Education: Marx and Kafka on Alienation

Join us for a group discussion regarding Karl Marx’s theory of alienation, using Franz Kafka’s The Metamorphosis as a way to better understand Marx’s ideas. There are PDFs of Marx’s Economic and Philosophical Manuscripts of 1844 and The Metamorphosis online; handouts with quotes will also be provided. Reading the books will not be necessary. The goal of the discussion is to better understand how we may apply Marx’s theory of alienation to our lives.
