This year, we offer a voting recommendation and explanation for each of the 7 ballot questions, and a rundown on the CCSD School Board. We will not be recommending candidates in the general and have chosen to focus our capacity and energy on building our own strategy and growing the socialist movement.

Special guest Teresa Melendez, Vice Chair of the Nevada Statewide Native American Caucus, will go over priorities for this legislative session and key action items. Q&A will follow the presentation.

Las Vegas DSA’s Labor Committee has started a reading group to discuss Jane McAlevey’s book ​”No Shortcuts: Organizing for Power in the New Gilded Age.”​ The book goes over how and why unions need to focus on building “actual power” through organizing rather than “pretend power” through advocacy and mobilizing.

Las Vegas DSA’s Socialist Feminist and Racial Justice committees have started a reading group to discuss How We Get Free: Black Feminism and the Combahee River Collective by Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor.

January 14th @ 7pm PT: We lay out some unique features of fascism and explore the relationship between fascism, capitalism, and socialism. Then, we discuss the debate involving whether Donald Trump and his supporters constitute a fascist movement.

December 10th @ 7pm PT: LVDSA's Socialist Feminist committee is taking over this month's Socialist Night School with a look at sex worker's rights and a discussion of how socialists should get involved in the fight.
