- Brian motions to approve last meeting’s minutes
- Anthony seconds
- Passes unanimously
- Boise guest speakers present.
- Boise members want to organize a protest against a problematic landlord attending a convention in Las Vegas. Boise might send members on a roadtrip to Vegas.
- They wonder if there is any capacity for us to help with organizing a protest or mobilizing people in Vegas to attend, May 15th (possibly May 15th-17th).
- They want to prioritize tenants over DSA members for a roadtrip. An estimate of 6-10 tenants/DSA members provided for the roadtrip.
- Anthony asks what the protest would look like.
- The Boise team would love to do inside disruption, but they do not want to assume it is possible.
- The Boise team is working on messaging and communication.
- Boise team of the exact convention location. They will provide the location to us once they find it.
- Brian makes the point that we really need to know the exact location of the convention to get an idea if assisting is viable.
- Anthony would like to get details in the next few days and have a resolution be presented to membership to see if they would like to participate.
- Anthony would like to know what our exact role would be to make sure we don’t take on more work than we can chew.
- Anthony also suggests we can send marshalls, a small support team, or help with research. Smaller tasks and tasks over large scale mobilizing/organizing.
- The convention is supposedly at Planet Hollywood.
- The Boise team would like small teams like marshalls. They would also appreciate help with information on what to expect and the location.
- Tiffany mentions there would be an active police presence at the Strip where the Planet Hollywood is located.
- Tiffany requests additional details from the Boise team before the 26th so we can share the information to membership at the May GBM.
- Meeting with David L.
- David announces that there is an organizing conference this summer in July/August. The application is due by May 18th.
- Application: https://form.jotform.com/260916803865162
- David would like to know if anyone is interested in attending.
- The conference is in Chicago.
- It is political education, skill training, etc. More learning/skill sharing over debate.
- Five different tracks that the conference will have based on different issues/topics.
- David recommends multiple people from our chapter apply and attend.
- Brian asks if this should be open to the general body or should it be for specific organizers. He also asks how big it is compared to the National Convention.
- David estimates space for about 500 people at the conference.
- Anthony asks how much it costs. David L. does not know the exact cost.
- Anthony wants to get more details before the application deadline to come up with a plan.
- David recommends this conference for up and coming leaders possibly. Not someone that is not involved.
- Brian volunteers to email dsacon@dsausa.org to get more information on the conference.
- David talks about Summer Electoral Conference: https://actionnetwork.org/event_campaigns/nec-summer-2026-electoral-academy?source=direct_link&
- David encourages us to attend the workshop.
- Anthony thinks it’s a good idea to get our electoral people to go to this event to keep them involved in electoral work after the campaigns are over.
- David speaks on the chapter development grants.
- Application: https://airtable.com/appXOEq2kNZ0sIZvu/pag09S8NulV2SW6lM/form
- It is not a competitive application.
- Development Grants Guide: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1xv9fCqpq9a7qzMz6NaQ_mZQV1ZGBkeMm2InA0jiVSiA/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.xk7svhhknn0f
- Interest form (NOT the application): https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfLAhFFJxZkCAhR5hzDdunh9uJyF7jJk5QqWUD_vfKc5fMnYw/viewform
- Anthony wants Casey to look into the development grant guide to see what we can apply for. Casey agrees.
- David L. suggests the grant can be used for an office space somehow.
- Anthony clarifies the grant can be used for a storage and event space.
- Tiffany shares upcoming events with David.
- Executive session begins at 7:41. Ends at 9:03.
- Nati asks questions about SC procedures and SC members on the call answer for educational reasons.
- Solidarity School Press Release:
- Drafted by Kathleen.
- Anthony wants SC to let him know if the press release is suitable for release and if there are suggestions.
- Anthony states he will try to get a Flock press release out for tomorrow.
- No concerns with Anthony’s plan.

- All in favor unanimously.

- Anthony mentions the current partners for the event.
- Anthony opens discussion on if we can print art for the event and if we need to clear that with artists.
- Anthony calls on everyone to keep promoting the event.
- Anthony talks about handouts. Tiffany has been talking with formations on what to provide with a handout. It can either be one handout or multiple. Anthony will communicate what he wants printed to Tiffany for the handout by Thursday.
- First Friday Tabling
- Discussion on butterfly displays to be used for tabling. Juni knows about this.
- Sophie states that what we think will be tabling is more of an “exhibit” and is wondering if we are aware of that.
- Anthony asks for details on what the exhibit should look like.
- Anthony suggests we ask the general body if anyone would like to work on this exhibit.
- Brian asks more questions about the exhibit. Sophie is confused about the concept. Tiffany suggests we get more info before asking people to work on this.
- Anthony suggests the butterfly display be the exhibit.
- First Friday Rally (led by NIC)
- Speakers are lined up from the community.
- NIC asked if we can provide marshalls for this rally. It is the only May Day event going on.
- Anthony told them we would help promote the rally and mobilize people in exchange for NIC partnering for Solidarity School.
- May GBM
- Paul C. says we can use Culinary for the local convention. If we want to use it longer, Tiffany thinks the cost of extending security would still be cheaper than alternatives. Paul will provide the cost to Tiffany.
- Anthony asks to look at the resolutions that have been submitted for consideration for May GBM.
- There will be at least 6 resolutions for May GBM.
- Anthony asks if Dylan has been notified about his absence as HGO before letting him know there is a resolution to remove him as HGO.
- Sophie asks for clarification on if we can move forward with the resolution put forward by EWG. Tiffany thinks if people are against the resolution they should vote it down.
- Tyler believes the resolution should be rewritten. Sand agrees.
- Anthony does not believe the resolution as written violates any bylaws, but suggests we reach out to Abe and them with critiques/suggested edits. If they are not receptive, then the resolution as written can be voted on at GBM.
- Tiffany will provide feedback to Abe.
- Anthony requests that we reach out to EWG about Voter Guide resolution regarding the questionnaire. Tiffany will reach out.
- Anthony would like to add a segment where he discusses organizing Solidarity School.
- Nuts and Bolts will be added to the end of the agenda and we will get to it if we can.
- Electoral Race Check-in
- Tiffany is afraid we will lose if the current decline in phonebank and canvass participation continues.
- Tiffany calls on SC to support efforts to drive members to canvasses/phonebanks.
- Tiffany suggests we reach out to members that have not participated at any electoral event to be mobilized.
- Anthony believes we are lacking charismatic members to hype up the campaigns.
- Anthony believes we should put numbers to goals for people, such as putting a number for goals (e.g. We have 50 more doors left to hit this week!).
- Tiffany responds by saying it is hard to hype up the current low turnout for canvasses.
- Brian suggests we scare the chapter a little bit with the threat of losing the elections to get people to help.
- Brian believes we should encourage Shaun and Val to get into member spaces more to hype up their campaigns, noting the low level of participation by them in chapter spaces.
- Jesser suggests emphasizing the small amount of time left in our operations.
- Anthony suggests leveraging emails. Tiffany explains the laws surrounding emails and the amount of sign ups as a result of emails.
- Tiffany suggests changing the targeting of our emails.
- Anthony shares comms strategy surrounding email.
- National Chapter Input Question
- Anthony will follow up about National questions regarding our ICE campaigns.
