Megan requests that someone place a pizza order for the Mamdani watch party, Casey picks up the task

Lorenzita has capacity, is working with Shaun to identify gaps in Hol Sol fundraising

Anthony’s capacity is increasing after being busy through October, focus on LVWOC and chapter trainings

Jesser reports positive movement with PoliEd, needs to pick a date for disability-focused event

Jaden reports capacity increasing, outside of a couple of upcoming dates for work, Tiffany will monitor social media

Coalition request from Community Safety Working Group – To have LV Defensa present to the CSWG about their network and efforts

Tyler C. notified

Also discussed importance of not spreading our members’ attention and capacity too thin, and should eventually focus on 1 primary network to support

Discussed fundraising proposal, Sophie D. presented to SC on the matter

Tiffany asks that the presenters be limited to DSA members

Anthony suggests decreasing the expected turnout from 200 to 100

Texting and phone banking – need to schedule and lead

Reminder to SC members that we previously pledged to each do 1 hour of text or phone banking each month

Casey in favor of cutting and distributing lists to interested members

Anthony proposes using phone banking tools instead of distributing lists, and letting MAWG choose the dates

No one opposed, Anthony will follow up with MAWG

Film tax credit presentation was valuable but went way over time

Positive feedback about PoliEd’s presentation

How can we make GBMs more friendly to first-timers?

Jaden suggests giving prework and then quizzing people (what socialist critique was in this pixar movie? Or something)

Tiffany considers punch cards (frequent socialist card)

Casey suggests we do a pass the hat every meeting

Anthony can’t help himself and responds to everyone else’s ideas (don’t give prework, do a raffle instead of punch cards, pass the hat but also encourage people to text folks to donate and/or join DSA) but then suggests that we focus on mini-trainings and small group discussions

Open Comment

Anthony points out that many members in slack have their profile set to Do Not Disturb, which seems to be happening by default, which is a bummer
