At least 43,640* Palestinians have been killed, including at least 15,971* children, 10,382* women, 141 journalists since October 2023. Over 86,000* people injured, 10,000* people are missing under the rubble, and over 17,000* children have been orphaned due to relentless bombardment and terror by Israel and unwavering and unlimited support from the United States.
Las Vegas DSA will promote the BDS (Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions) movement in solidarity with the Palestinian cause, using guidance from the Palestinian BDS National Committee. This campaign will have three areas of focus: legislative pressure, public education, and union support.
The BDS movement is a Palestinian-led effort that began in 2005 and urges people around the world to “impose broad boycotts and implement divestment initiatives against Israel similar to those applied to South Africa in the apartheid era” until it meets three demands: ending its occupation and colonization of all Arab lands and dismantling the Wall; recognizing the fundamental rights of the Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel to full equality; and respecting, protecting and promoting the rights of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and properties as stipulated in UN Resolution 194.
